Bass Fishing: The Best Way To Catch Cedar River Bass

The State of Michigan has largest streams of water in United States of America and throughout this state, anglers joyfully gather at various streams, ponds, lakes, and rivers and in this list Cedar River occupies a supreme place.

The tributaries of Cedar River extend to three main branches including Beaverton and Tobacco River. Cedar River which runs form Cascades in east of Maple Valley to Washington Lake, is an enormously prime fishing point. It is frequently used for recreational activities like Bass Fishing, boating and scene viewing. It has been developed to be a much sought-after public place.

Most of fishing resorts are under-developed and do not provide much facilities for bass fishing. They are neither designed nor maintained to give an enjoyable look or provide recreational facilities. But Cedar River is a recreational hub where innumerable facilities like boats, launches, ramps, parking and eating have been provided to visitors. It also provides put-in and put-out point for non-motorized boats as well as restroom / outhouse facilities at site. Along this river, one enjoys fly fishing. Although heavy wooded and thick meadows hamper fly-fishing but it is very much possible to do a bass. Trout named "Blue Ribbon" is very common in this area and in its deeper areas trout is in abundance.

When you go upstream and cross Middle Branch which is nearer to Stage Road and you will reach West Branch which is near North Branch and that is fly fishing area and trout "blue ribbon" flocks in this area. Then warm water comes in Wiggins Lake extending towards Beaverton. It is a hub place for smallmouth bass and rock bass. Going downwards to this stream near Sugar River, Tittabawassee and Meridian road, you will find hunting areas of big trout. Moreover in this area, largemouth bass, pan-fish, channel catfish, smallmouth bass, suckers, muskellunge and walleye are also found which has rendered this place as hunt place for bass fishing.

Great areas for bass fishing at Cedar River are located nearer low regions which are large but deep sections whereas upper regions are confined which are also very good place for bass. One should always search for hiding areas but clean and transparent waters are favorite places for rock bass, smallmouth bass and largemouth bass.

Bass Fishing for Smallmouth and Bigmouth Bass

Smallmouth bass which hails from Micropterus Dolomieu family is a fish of transparent and fresh water. It is present in clear waters and considered best for sports game. Then there is largemouth fish which is abundant in Cedar River. It is again a freshwater game fish. It has black and green body. It is the largest of all bass species. Largemouth is often called as green bass and some times few black fish are called as black bass. It hails from Micropterus Salmoides family. It has a big mouth which often goes beyond its eye. Lastly there is Rock bass at Cedar River which is very common in Michigan. It belongs to Ambloplites Rupestris family. Bass fishing for smallmouth as well as Bigmouth bass can be equally challenging and exciting.
